New living room decor!

Omg, I cannot believe i haven't blogged in over a year! Is it too late to make a New Years resolution to start blogging every week?! Don't worry, I've got great plans for this site in these upcoming months, and a special announcement next month so stay tuned!

I have been revamping my house (surprise surprise) and I've been really really good about getting rid of all the clutter and excess stuff I have, and let me tell you, less is defiantly more!! I'm always constantly changing different areas in the house, replacing items, or just completely starting over and redecorating the whole room! I haven't done much in my living room so I decided to revamp it. I've been eyeing this ladder bookshelf for the LONGEST time, but felt that I needed to sell/get rid of my side tables that are next to my couch FIRST before I add more clutter. (I'm not a hoarder so that makes total sense right?!)  I was able to sell a set of mirrored side tables pictured below, then I repurchased NEW mirrored side tables, and then I finally decided to let them go and get a bookshelf to organize all my frames while adding more space to the room since I wont have clutter with the two side tables on each end of the couch!

Mirrored side table 1:

Mirrored side table 2:

As for my bookcase, you can find this anywhere. I purchased a white finish because it matches the whole theme of my house, in which I now painted grey and white. You can get this anywhere from Target, the container store, Walmart,  all nearly over $100 but I found this off amazon for $60 with free shipping (that's always a plus!) You should be able to find it under "ladder bookcase". Prices often change on amazon with these, so it's going to be a hit or miss between $60-$100. You put it together yourself; It was pretty easy minus my back and knee aches that I have been having :(

This is what it looks like from the side angle. As you can see, each shelf is a different size as it goes from small to large. The "ladder" itself leans against the wall and needs the support in order for the shelfs to stay straight so make sure you use a "level" per shelf when you screw in the nails!

I couldn't decide where to put the bookshelf, so I ended up putting it on the other side of my couch because I had more room to put some boxes on the floor beside it. Plus the natural lighting that shines down onto the bookcase makes the glitter damask wallpaper blend in so well together :)

Also, a great way to hide clutter are these boxes I got from Michaels craft store and TjMaxx! In all 5 of these boxes, I was able to put all my DVDs that I have left, So it's easy to grab quick while being fashionably hiden lol.

And here's a side angle of the bookcase. I just put some frames, candles, and photo albums for now, so it won't look empty but I will defiantly be at TjMaxx this weekend to find some cute decor for the shelves!

Now remeber, check back soon as I will be blogging weekly with more decor, surprises, and giveaways!

It's great to be back! XOXO!

Spring is finally here.... for my bathroom!

Since my room mate has moved out, I have my whole house to myself and I don't feel as restricted as I did before with buying things and sharing ect. It's nice to really really decorate things to my own liking, especially in the bathroom since we both had shared it.

Before, my bathroom was soooo plain and wanted to stick to the idea of anything shiny, rhinestones, and white. The shower curtain was satin white with rhinestone lining, the curtain hooks were also rhinestone, and even the towels! I need more color in my life, so what better excuse than to spruce it up since spring is here.

Nail care

My review on biotin. I was showing a couple of friends today about how amazing this pill is. I didn't take a before pic (I should have) but I've been using the highest dosage for about a month now and my nails have grown out so long, healthy, and thick that they look fake! Biotin focus's on skin, hair, and nails. I don't notice anything in my skin but the nails and hair. My hair has grown out so thick, healthy, and fast but it could partially be because I chopped it off so it's growing healthy but just means I need another trim. I got this at walmart and I think it was $8-- easy tiny soft gels that not smell.

Bargain Shopping

I probably snagged the best deal ever at Home Goods!

This ginormous mirrored framed mirror was $300. It was marked down a few times all the way down to $45 because it has a spider web crack on the frame. I honesty thought it was not that bad and knew I could fix it somehow, some way.

This mirror fit exactly with the fireplace, BOTH at 72 inches!!! It brightens the room and makes it look way bigger! I actually like how my decor is rearranged the new way than what I had before :D I love bargain shopping!!

New addition to my vanity

I have been into clear/acrylic/lucite accessories for all my mirrored furniture, I just had to add a clear ghost chair to my vanity! As I stated previously in my blog post, my vanity is from Pier One imports and it's part of the Hayworth collection. The table ($400) and mirror ($200) and stool are all sold seperately to complete the set. I, on the other hand, didn't want to fork up another $170 for a stool so I found this awesome ghost chair in a Chiavari crystal design for about $80 on amazon. This design is well known as a stacking chair used as guest chairs for formal weddings -- mostly made out of wood in the colors of gold and silver. This chair goes by many names in whatever way you want to call it. Clear chair, crystal chair, lucite chair, ghost chair and so on.

I love it! It adds the perfect touch. Let's just hope I never weigh over 200 pounds and break it. He he

Also, please check out www.kgstyleinc.com and subscribe to her site! She has amazing home decor items and awesome stuff for sale. My vanity will be featured on there so stay tuned!

Using old things around the house

Here is a step by step on an old vase I had lying around as well as some silk orchids I didn't have use for anymore.

I found some styrofoam and cut it to size, put it in the box and inserted the flowers at each angle. Within 10mins you have a DIY side table centerpiece!
