Spring is finally here.... for my bathroom!

Since my room mate has moved out, I have my whole house to myself and I don't feel as restricted as I did before with buying things and sharing ect. It's nice to really really decorate things to my own liking, especially in the bathroom since we both had shared it.

Before, my bathroom was soooo plain and wanted to stick to the idea of anything shiny, rhinestones, and white. The shower curtain was satin white with rhinestone lining, the curtain hooks were also rhinestone, and even the towels! I need more color in my life, so what better excuse than to spruce it up since spring is here.

Being that I have no children, I spoil my one and only God Daughter, and what better way to do it by planning a fun, girly, bubbly ice cream Sunday party.

Menu:
Vanilla ice cream with unlimited sprinkles and toppings (gummi bears, watermelon sours, marshmallows, rainbow bites, Carmel Apple chocolates, m&m's, gummi kisses) with root beer floats and pink lemonade!

Nail care

My review on biotin. I was showing a couple of friends today about how amazing this pill is. I didn't take a before pic (I should have) but I've been using the highest dosage for about a month now and my nails have grown out so long, healthy, and thick that they look fake! Biotin focus's on skin, hair, and nails. I don't notice anything in my skin but the nails and hair. My hair has grown out so thick, healthy, and fast but it could partially be because I chopped it off so it's growing healthy but just means I need another trim. I got this at walmart and I think it was $8-- easy tiny soft gels that not smell.

Bargain Shopping

I probably snagged the best deal ever at Home Goods!

This ginormous mirrored framed mirror was $300. It was marked down a few times all the way down to $45 because it has a spider web crack on the frame. I honesty thought it was not that bad and knew I could fix it somehow, some way.

This mirror fit exactly with the fireplace, BOTH at 72 inches!!! It brightens the room and makes it look way bigger! I actually like how my decor is rearranged the new way than what I had before :D I love bargain shopping!!

New addition to my vanity

I have been into clear/acrylic/lucite accessories for all my mirrored furniture, I just had to add a clear ghost chair to my vanity! As I stated previously in my blog post, my vanity is from Pier One imports and it's part of the Hayworth collection. The table ($400) and mirror ($200) and stool are all sold seperately to complete the set. I, on the other hand, didn't want to fork up another $170 for a stool so I found this awesome ghost chair in a Chiavari crystal design for about $80 on amazon. This design is well known as a stacking chair used as guest chairs for formal weddings -- mostly made out of wood in the colors of gold and silver. This chair goes by many names in whatever way you want to call it. Clear chair, crystal chair, lucite chair, ghost chair and so on.

I love it! It adds the perfect touch. Let's just hope I never weigh over 200 pounds and break it. He he

Also, please check out www.kgstyleinc.com and subscribe to her site! She has amazing home decor items and awesome stuff for sale. My vanity will be featured on there so stay tuned!

Using old things around the house

Here is a step by step on an old vase I had lying around as well as some silk orchids I didn't have use for anymore.

I found some styrofoam and cut it to size, put it in the box and inserted the flowers at each angle. Within 10mins you have a DIY side table centerpiece!

Being organized.

These are probably one of my favorite things in my house, which belong in my bedroom. My mirrored vanity and armoire!! They are pretty spendy but I think it is so worth the money. They are both from the Hayworth collection from pier 1 imports. Right now I know they have free shipping on orders over $150 and this would def qualify.

Note that the mirror, table, and stool are all sold separately. I didn't purchase the stool because I didn't think it was worth $170. The mirror itself is $200 and the table is $400. The good thing is that it's detachable, easy for moving.

Here are a few things on top of my vanity.

 A
pothecary jars used for my facial sponges and q-tips all from Michaels. The clothe jar is from Tuesday Morning and I keep my favorite Tory Burch and BCBG bracelet collection inside.

This acrylic organizer is from the container store that I got as a gift from my best friend. I've been dying for this for the longest! It's the perfect size for my make up and a GREAT organizer!

Another apothecary jar that I used for my brushes. I bought multiple bags of rhinestones to fill it up as well as rhinestone trimming. All the materials were from Michales as well.

Here is an up close look at what's in the jar. They are irredescent beads mixed with "fake" diamonds. It's cheaper to find them in the beading section at michaels versus the "wedding" section.

And last but not least, another acrylic organizer for my little things such as Lippies and misc items. This was from home goods.

The jewlwey armoire is $400 but it has so many drawers to fit everything and anything you have. The top flips up with a mirror where you can place your rings. The sides open up so you can hang all your necklaces. The last two bottom drawers are a little bit bigger but I like to use that to keep all of my Jewlwey boxes and sunglass cases in.  The interior has like a velvet-ish material which is super nice.

DIY Spring centerpieces

I'm so over this winter weather! Ever since I moved in the first year I just bought everything and anything just to add furnishings and decor without knowing what theme and style I was going for. Everything I had was either pink, hot pink, and basically anything girly. These past few months I added some changes and even repainted the whole house to have the perfect shade of grey I was looking for. Now I just want everything super shabby chic, sleek, and white. My first start is tossing out my pink silk flowers and brightening up the living room by simply adding white for a sleeker look.

My obsesh with frames

I found these cute little frames in the $3 spot at Michaels! These vintage Inspired frames comes in different colors but these seem to go really well with theme!  Also infamous for having frames all over the house ... With no pictures inside :/

DIY Candle Holders

I've been meaning to add some decor to one of my side tables in my bedroom but I've just left it with a vase and two candles. I found these candle holders and michaels for about $6 and these awesome rhinestone stickers for $5 which is SO convienent! 5 mins, and there you go. Bling candle holders.

Bath and body works haul

Who can give up a semi-annual sale?! Not me!!

I personally think it's worth the money for their 3 wick candles. Once the candles are lit, the entire room smells so delicious. I really do see the big difference between one wick, and three wick.

As for hand soap. Who doesn't want their hands smelling good? Enough said.

Another thing that I did, was I saved my receipts from previous purchases that had a $10 off your $30 purchase which definitely helped out on this sale. Even better!
